All colors are the friends of their neighbors and the lovers of their opposites. – Marc Chagall
I’m an artist whose practice spans more than three decades. Introduced to sketching during a college art course, the discipline quickly became a constant part of my creative life.
My work is rooted in observational drawing, often rendered in ink or watercolor when sketching on the go and in gouache or acrylic when working in the studio.
I live in the Pacific Northwest with my wife of 38 years, where daily life is shaped by an appreciation for family, artistic endeavors, travel, good coffee, and the quest to cook a memorable meal.
Nothing makes me happier than the opportunity to draw and paint. Time stops (or perhaps I’m just slow).
At 65, I’ve learned that art is about telling a story with composition, contrast, mood, and embracing the unexpected.
And for the record – I like my brew dark, that goes for coffee or beer.
